Community Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a Community Intervention Specialist, you will work with individuals, couples, families, and groups who are experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties to help them bring about effective change and enhance their wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Casework management and referrals to link clients and families to relevant resources for support.
  • Counselling and therapy with clients and families according to program specifics and client goals.
  • Work with parents on parenting skills and emotional support in parenting stress.
  • Advocating for clients' needs and resources to enhance their well-being at the societal level.
  • Operating helplines for brief support and counselling to callers facing distress.

Professional Development and Leadership:

  • Building competencies through reflexive practice, supervision, and trainings to benefit clients.
  • Contributing to the knowledge of the team through presentation sharing.

Program Development, Implementation, and Evaluation:

  • Researching and innovating intervention programs to suit community needs.
  • Planning intervention lesson plans and preparing materials and logistics required.
  • Working with staff for evaluation and review to improve effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Master's degree in any recognized counselling discipline.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the relevant field is preferred.
  • Preferably a registered practitioner with the Singapore Association for Counselling.
  • Basic knowledge of theories, counselling modalities, and case conceptualisation skills.
  • Knowledge in parenting-related topics/modules and program delivery/presentation skills.
  • Facilitation skills in group settings, research, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Relate to and engage youths, children, and families.
  • Case conceptualization skills and interest/passion in working with children, youths, and families.
  • Teamwork: build constructive relationships characterized by high acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
  • Self-driven with keen interest in learning and trying new responsibilities/tasks.
  • Attuned to the interests of clients and social cause.
