Co-operative Governance and Stewardship Professional

This role presents a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change in the co-operative movement by collaborating with passionate partners, agencies, and community leaders to amplify social impact.

  • Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in supporting co-op businesses, social enterprises, and purpose-driven organizations through grant disbursements, training programmes or capacity-building initiatives.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience; fresh graduates with internships, community involvement will also be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Business Administration, Community Development, Public Policy, Social Policy, or Marketing or equivalent.
  • Strong passion for community empowerment, with partnership building, stakeholder management, communication and project management abilities.

About the Role:

  • Partnership Development: Support co-op businesses in attaining high governance standards through initiatives such as training programs, resources, and grants.
  • Stewardship: Champion and promote the values and social impact of co-operatives by designing and implementing initiatives that inspire and empower co-ops and their members.
  • Programme Management: Collaborate with diverse partners to develop engaging programmes and educational resources that reinforce co-operative principles and drive positive changes within the movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Governance: Ensure effective risk assessment and mitigation strategies are in place to safeguard co-op businesses.
  • Project Management: Develop and implement projects that meet the needs of co-op businesses and enhance their overall performance.
  • Grant Disbursements: Coordinate grant disbursements to support co-op businesses in achieving their goals.
