Logistics Operations Manager Job Description

The Logistics Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the entire supply chain, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. This position requires strategic thinking, effective communication, and exceptional leadership skills to drive business success.

  • Supply Chain Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and ensure a reliable supply chain.
  • Inventory Optimization: Design and implement strategies to minimize inventory costs, including transportation, warehousing, and logistics management.
  • Transportation and Distribution: Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods, manage relationships with logistics service providers, and ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of logistics staff, provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team achieves its goals.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong Understanding of Logistics Principles and Practices: Analyze and interpret complex data to inform logistics decisions.
  • Excellent Planning and Organizational Skills: Prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective Communication and Negotiation Skills: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate contracts and pricing, and build strong relationships with suppliers.
