Early Onset Colorectal Cancer Researcher

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our pioneering research team focused on early onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC). The project, under the Centre for Microbiome Medicine, investigates EOCRC factors such as childhood obesity, early life antibiotic use, ultra-processed foods, and microbiome changes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct animal model experiments to study the impact of childhood exposures on microbiome changes and cancer development.
- Analyze biological samples, including microbiome and histological assessments.
- Support the development and validation of machine learning models for cancer-risk prediction using electronic health records.
- Prepare IACUC protocols for animal research.
- Maintain accurate experimental records.
- Assist with data interpretation, report writing, and manuscript preparation for publication.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including bioinformatics and clinical researchers.
- Present research findings at internal and external meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or Biomedical Sciences; Master's degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in animal work, microbiome research, or cancer biology is desirable.
- Proficiency in animal handling, experimentation, and histological analysis.
- Familiarity with microbiome analysis techniques and bioinformatics tools.
- Experience with IACUC submissions and compliance with animal research protocols.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
