The estimated salary for this role is SGD 120,000 - 180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power Systems Project Manager to lead our power and construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and electronics engineering, with a minimum of 12-15 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage power and construction projects from planning to execution, ensuring that all activities are carried out to the highest standards.
  • To develop and implement effective project management frameworks, incorporating necessary review processes as required.
  • To secure resources, suppliers, and products for clients as needed.
  • To monitor design, construction, and dismantling programmes, identifying opportunities for improved delivery.
  • To proactively identify potential problems, conflicts, design, and delivery issues using risk management tools and skills to mitigate impact on the project.
  • To oversee the effective operation of activities related to power and construction contracts through regular site visits and quality checks.
  • To manage and direct the power and construction team to provide overall superintendence and ensure that the project team staff, contractors, etc., work well and provide a supportive environment for the achievement of the project.
  • To hold weekly staff meetings with the power and construction team, monitor and review staff working hours, and write performance reviews for power and construction staff.
  • To negotiate and convert contracts as required by the project, oversee the award of contracts, and ensure that the client is adequately protected.
  • To provide regular and accurate reporting on the project progress, costs, and quality.
  • To review and oversee the management of all power and construction contracts, ensuring that there are no major gaps or issues in providing the required deliverables.
  • To monitor and review all power and construction work instructions and variations, ensuring that all information is accurate, recorded, and follows the designated project approval process.
  • To manage and document changes/variations following approval by the client, ensuring that contractors and consultants are paid in accordance with contract schedules.
  • To review procurement requirements and provide all necessary power and construction technical support to the procurement process.
  • To take the leading role in interfacing with the client and contractors on all power and construction matters at all project stages.
  • To actively seek and implement strategies to improve the client's position in regard to return and value.
  • To identify and resolve disputes quickly and reasonably.
  • To develop and maintain excellent relationships with the client, authorities, consultants, contractors, and adjoining property owners/stakeholders.
  • To monitor, review, and implement appropriate document control processes in line with quality control procedures.
  • To prepare monthly status reports input on all power and construction activities, including a detailed analysis of power consumption and utilization.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of relevant experience in power and construction projects.
  • Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Systems in the relevant field in the power and construction industry.
  • Minimum 10-12 years' project management experience, including a minimum of 8 years' experience in Singapore.
  • Contract administration experience.
  • Excellent overall knowledge of most power and construction systems, knowledge in innovative components introduction, and handling.
  • Knowledge in electrical power distribution, smart DBs, PLC/SCADA integration, and smart components.
  • Experience working in construction and industrial design firms.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate the inputs of project stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
  • Capacity to assess and resolve site planning and coordination issues.
  • Application of quality management principles and processes.
  • Possession of a keen eye for detail to deliver the highest quality of standard.
  • Application of risk assessment and management principles and processes.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with a diverse range of people at all levels.
  • Strong written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to draft reports, minutes, correspondence, procedures, processes, and forms.
  • Sound literacy in computer software, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Flexibility and ability to work with different areas of the business.
  • Punctuality with attendance and task delivery.
