Woodchip Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced procurement manager to join our team. This is a high-visibility role that requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the woodchip market.
About the JobThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing key origination markets, leading strategic procurement projects, and ensuring effective execution of supply contracts to secure woodchip feedstock for pulp mills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies across key woodchip markets
- Drive short-term commercial strategy on pricing and spot purchases and mid-to-long-term strategy on multiyear contracts and long-term negotiations
- Oversee the full lifecycle of physical commodity trades, including origination, execution, operations, and risk management
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in physical commodity trading with ownership of a trading P&L book
- Demonstrated experience in trading operations, risk management, market analysis, and logistics
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of 4–5 people or more
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
