We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Sustainability Communications Specialist.

Job Description:

The role will involve developing and implementing effective communications strategies to drive sustainability and equity. This includes creating engaging content, managing social media presence, and maintaining the members portal. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for producing the quarterly podcast with industry experts and designing communications campaigns with members and partners.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop content and assets for newsletters, mailers, website updates, visuals, and infographics.
  2. Manage social media presence on LinkedIn and other platforms.
  3. Maintain the Members Portal.
  4. Produce the quarterly podcast with industry experts.
  5. Design and implement communications campaigns with members and partners.
  • Member Outreach & Engagement (30%):
  1. Respond regularly to membership inquiries and feedback.
  2. Guide new members through applications and induction.
  3. Support existing members with information on working groups, deadlines, and engagement opportunities.
  4. Upkeep of contact lists.
  • Administration & Finance (30%):
  1. Organize events: annual general assembly, webinars, member meetings, and executive committee meetings.
  2. Provide event logistics (venue, catering, technical support).
  3. Maintain fee records; follow up on outstanding payments.
  4. Liaise between departments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong multitasking skills across communications, administration, and finance.
  • Proficiency with Canva and mailing platforms (e.g., Active Campaign).
  • Self-disciplined, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to work in diverse teams with adaptability.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong team spirit.
  • Willingness to contribute to processes and documentation.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Podcast editing experience.
  • Background in stakeholder engagement, smallholder community outreach, or project management.
  • Experience working in international environments.
