Job Role Description

The Assistant Merchandiser plays a key supporting role in the planning, execution and evaluation of merchandising and logistics functions. This role is responsible for assisting in managing product assortments, monitoring inventory and stock levels, coordinating with suppliers and supporting the implementation of merchandising strategies and marketing activities.


This job requires the ability to analyse product sales, stock turnover rate and inventory level, as well as customers' feedback on product categories. The Assistant Merchandiser must also review private label and/or house brand product quality and introduce new products to staff.


Additionally, this role involves consolidating information to forecast merchandise demand, contributing to merchandise and material sourcing, analysing information on target segment and analysing cost of merchandise. The Assistant Merchandiser must also provide inputs to formulate merchandising strategies, analyse information on business environment and merchandising landscape and ensure all merchandising strategies are followed through at all levels.


Key Responsibilities
  • Category Management and Product Assortments: Implement product category's private label's and/or house brand's product range and assortment plans, pricing and promotional plan.
  • Product Sourcing: Consolidate information to forecast merchandise demand, contribute to merchandise and material sourcing, analyse information on target segment and analyse cost of merchandise.
  • Merchandising Strategies: Provide inputs to formulate merchandising strategies, analyse information on business environment and merchandising landscape and ensure all merchandising strategies are followed through at all levels.
  • Manage Shopper Marketing Activities: Analyse information on shoppers' profiles and implement shopper promotional plans, measure effectiveness of change in visual merchandising displays and ensure effectiveness of marketing activities.

Requirements

· Minimum 1-2 years of related field experience required.

· Experience in retail or F&B industry and proficient in MS Excel will be an added advantage.

· Good interpersonal & communication skills required.

· Well organised, good team player & willing to learn.
