Tender Manager/Assistant Tender Manager Job Opportunity

  • This role entails overseeing the entire tendering process, from pre-qualification to final submission. Ensuring that all tender documents, project specifications, and contract terms are aligned with company capabilities and financial objectives is crucial.

  • As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing and compiling technical and commercial proposals, ensuring all submission requirements are met.

  • You will work closely with legal and finance teams to evaluate contract risks and financial implications, develop accurate and competitive cost estimates, budgets, and bid pricing strategies.

  • Analyzing project costs, including material, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead expenses, is also an essential task.

  • You must identify potential cost-saving opportunities and alternative construction methods to enhance competitiveness, liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities throughout the tendering process.

  • Working closely with internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance, and operations) to gather necessary data for tender preparation is vital.

  • Negotiating and finalizing pricing agreements with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency and attending meetings, site visits, and contract negotiations to gain insights into project requirements.

  • Identifying and evaluating potential risks in tenders, including technical, contractual, and financial aspects, and ensuring all tender proposals comply with legal, regulatory, and safety standards set by authorities in Singapore.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records of tender submissions, correspondences, and approvals is essential.

  • Staying updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to enhance tender strategies and assess new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company's project portfolio.

  • Providing strategic recommendations to senior management on improving tender success rates is a critical task.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Architecture / Structure / M&E / Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on project tendering
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and tender submission processes
  • Excellent cost management, leadership, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Glodon and tendering software
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including professional presentations to clients
