Science Support Specialist

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the teaching and learning of science by contributing to a productive team environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Teaching and Learning Support:
      • Prepare Science materials, apparatus, and labs for conducting experiments.
      • Assist teachers in science-related activities during lessons and enrichment sessions as required.
    • Maintenance and Upkeep:
      • Ensure Science apparatus, equipment, and resources are in serviceable condition, reporting any damages or issues to the relevant authorities.
      • Administer the maintenance of the school eco-garden, including reporting on plant conditions.
      • Arrange for fish feeding in the pond at the eco-garden.
      • Oversee the maintenance of the Hydroponics system, reporting damages or faults.
      • Assist in monitoring the inventory for Science apparatus, equipment, and resources.
    • School Events and Activities:
      • Support teachers in preparing activities for the Science Club and events.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in GCE 'N' or 'O' Level or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player with high initiative
  • Prior experience with hydroponics, veggie towers, vermicomposting, and mushroom cultivation is an asset
  • Good First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is preferred
