Advanced Animal Healthcare Professional

As a Veterinary Nurse or Senior Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to animals. The job involves evaluating and facilitating the admission process for new patients. You will also provide support for anesthesia monitoring and recovery in emergency situations. Additionally, you will assist emergency veterinarians with the care and treatment of hospitalized patients, including those in the ICU. Critical patients in the ward and ICU will be overseen by you. Radiographic imaging will be performed as part of your duties. Patients will need to be restrained for exams and treatments, which is another key aspect of the job. Preparation and discharge of patients for surgeries, including postoperative bandaging and recovery, are also crucial responsibilities. Effective communication with clients is essential in this role. Inpatient rounds will be participated in, and self-directed learning activities, such as attending continuing education lectures and reviewing relevant literature, will be undertaken.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need a degree or diploma in veterinary technology/nursing with relevant qualifications. Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is highly desirable.
