Job Title: Senior Manager, Technical Services Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, Technical Services Expert to join our team at Phaidon International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore.

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership position that involves leading the technical team within Group Property Management, reporting to the Head of Group Property Management. The Technical Services (TS) team provides technical support and advice to Property Management (PM) portfolio teams, reviewing improvement works, building defects, and conversion projects across the asset portfolio, ensuring compliance with relevant building safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, organize, and monitor the work and resources of the TS team, driving strategic alignment and operational excellence.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of TS roles, tasks, and engineering expertise within Group Property Management and portfolios, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Stay abreast of new engineering technologies and explore their potential to enhance building operations, recommending innovative solutions to stakeholders.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and advice on design and problem areas related to building defects and conversion works, collaborating with internal teams and external consultants as required.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve higher standards of engineering and technical expertise, helping portfolios meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain engineering and technical policies or standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.
  • Work closely with in-house technical teams, external consultants, and contractors to address building defects and propose solutions for maintenance and repair, ensuring timely completion and budget optimization.
  • Identify and procure consultancy services and contractors for improvement, rectification, or conversion works, managing vendor relationships and contract administration.
  • Review consultants' proposals for new developments or improvements in building functionality and operations, providing feedback and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets and expenditures for repair and maintenance works, long-term asset repair and replacement planning, and capital expenditure projects, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Recommend new initiatives or automation for cost savings and efficiency across the asset portfolio, collaborating with business leaders to drive adoption and implementation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to local teams on critical structural or mechanical issues, offering guidance and support as needed.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical principles and practices.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in building facilities management, project management, and integrated fitting-out works, showcasing a track record of success in similar roles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), with experience with SAP being an advantage in terms of enterprise software knowledge.
  • Certification as a Fire Safety Manager is highly desirable, highlighting a commitment to safety and risk management.
  • Strong leadership, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards shared goals.
  • Operational or consultancy experience in temperate or non-equatorial M&E requirements is advantageous, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in different environments.
  • The ability to manage multiple operations and projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines and deliver results.
