Transforming Global Supply Chains with Strategic Public Policy

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team in Asia-Pacific, focusing on regulatory and public policy environments within the region. This individual will have a strong understanding of global standards and regulatory harmonisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Expand regional public policy engagement through strategic stakeholder engagement
  • Regulatory monitoring and tracking of legislative developments at national and regional levels in Asia-Pacific
  • Collaboration and project opportunities evaluation with government, intergovernmental organisations, and industry groups/trade associations
  • Assessment and advice on draft legislation and further action recommendations
  • Coordination of policy positions with GS1 member organisations in Asia-Pacific to execute Global Public Policy directions
  • Consultation with senior management of GS1 Member Organisations to further strategic global public policy priorities
  • Representation of GS1 in key conferences, meetings, forums, and ensuring opportunities for global public policy leadership participation
  • Overseeing day-to-day activities related to Public Policy projects
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public affairs, political science, international relations, or business, with 6-8 years of work experience
  • Sector-specific experience in food, retail, e-commerce, supply chain logistics, sustainability, or working in government, with a thorough understanding of trade associations and chambers of commerce
  • Experience from APEC, ASEAN, or regional/global intergovernmental organisations or government agencies, with functioning in key Asian Pacific markets, is highly appreciated
Desirable Skills:
  • Fluency in English, oral and written; knowledge of major Asian languages is beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident presenter and public speaker
  • Proven organisational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong collaborative skills, international mindset, and willingness to involve stakeholders from a wide range of countries and support multicultural working groups
  • Comfortable learning about new technology and explaining it in a simple way for external audiences
  • Willingness to be part of a globally distributed team which meets virtually more than in person
  • Excellent time management with flexibility to cater to commitments across multiple time zones
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented, with the proven ability to follow through on short and long-term work streams
  • Ability to create strong and trusted relationships with a globally distributed team in a multi-cultural environment
  • Demonstrates integrity, passion, energy, and drive in their work

This role may require up to 10% global travel.
