Job Description

About this role:

We are looking for a skilled automation engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and optimizing DeltaV systems, as well as providing on-call support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain DeltaV system for GMP compliance and high availability in manufacturing activities.
  • Optimize production processes through automation.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call operational support for DeltaV automation as part of a team.
  • Execute qualification tests, including IQ, OQ, PQ, and generate CSV files.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize automation systems' performance, including cybersecurity initiatives and routine patching activities, with the Digital team.
  • Support Plant Connectivity (IOT) initiatives and integrate smart devices to DeltaV and/or site Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Manage system data storage for retention period compliance, alarms, periodic reviews, and audit trail reviews for Data Integrity.
  • Develop and manage automation system SOPs, including operation, maintenance, backup, recovery, and access control.
  • Manage DeltaV automation lifecycle documents, such as system architecture, user requirements, and software specification documents.
  • Review and upgrade standards with global SMEs as part of the COP.
  • Represent the engineering function as System SME in audits.
  • Manage automation spares.
  • Be an SME on DeltaV DCS matters for assigned projects, by performing automation assessments, implementation, and CSV activities.
  • Represent the business in engineering review for automation strategy.

About You

To be successful in this role, you need:

Education: A degree or Master's in Engineering (Chemical / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation / Industrial Systems/ Pharmaceutical).

Experience: Industrial experience in the Biopharmaceuticals/ API industry.

Skills: Proficiency in programming/troubleshooting in DeltaV, in-depth understanding of Batch S88 standards (CM, EM, Phases, Recipes, Units etc), experience in Network Infrastructure/ Virtual Machines – Virtualization, Communication protocol i.e OPC/OPC-UA, Profibus, Profinet, IO link etc, and strong technical writing skills.

You should be a self-driven team player who can communicate technical solutions to stakeholders and lead automation projects with experience in project management tools and mentoring a team of external automation engineers.
