Program Overview

The Work-Study Diploma programme offers an excellent blend of academic pursuit and practical work experience, providing individuals with the benefits of both realms.

This program enables learners to advance their studies without financial worries and receive a monthly salary while pursuing a diploma.

NITEC or Higher NITEC graduates eager to join the Lifesaving Force upon graduation may find enrolling in a WSDip program appealing.

This pathway allows them to simultaneously work, earn a salary, and pursue a diploma, advancing their career prospects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • NITEC Certification with a minimum GPA score of 2.0; or any Higher NITEC Certification.
  • Candidates with partial colour blindness must have a class 3 driving license to be shortlisted.
  • Male applicants must possess a PES B2 rating or higher.
  • A minimum pass standard for IPPT is required.
  • Pre-enlistees will have a 5-year Minimum Term of Engagement (MTE) bond in lieu of the National Service's obligation.

As Fire and Rescue Specialists, trainees will join SCDF and utilise their training to respond to fires, medical emergencies, and other rescue missions.

Responsibilities include deploying firefighting techniques, conducting rescue operations, and providing medical assistance to those in need.
