Job Overview

This role involves overseeing the operation of fiber testing and rectification work for various customers, supervising contractors in the execution of maintenance works.

We require an individual to ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with established operational procedures and engineering guidelines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring contractors adhere to safety procedures in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act (WHSA) and use appropriate safety equipment.

The role also involves supervising projects as assigned by manager, working with different stakeholders to provide direction and support. There may be a requirement to be activated after office hours when necessary to manage escalation and fibre outage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operation of fiber testing and rectification work for various customers.
  • Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with established operational procedures and engineering guidelines.
  • Ensure contractors adhere to safety procedures in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act (WHSA) and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Supervise projects as assigned by manager, working with different stakeholders to provide direction and support.
  • Manage escalation and fibre outage when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering/Telecommunications or relevant field.
  • Able to work during non-office hours on an occasional basis and be on 24 x 7 hours standby alert for ad-hoc faults.
  • Good working knowledge of PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A high level of analytical and problem-solving skills is essential to ensure that you can effectively resolve issues that arise.

You will need to have a strong understanding of operational procedures and engineering guidelines to ensure that work is conducted safely and efficiently.

Additionally, you should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

As a supervisor, you will be required to provide guidance and support to contractors, so experience in leading teams and managing personnel is highly desirable.
