Conference Director Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team and drive the growth strategy for conferences.

The Conference Director will oversee all aspects of production, including team management, event planning, and execution. They will be responsible for developing a strong conference production team, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the commercial success of each event.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of experience in conference production, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage, inspire, and grow a team. They will also have a proven track record in planning and executing multiple simultaneous projects, as well as direct influence over research and speaker acquisition campaigns.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strategic product direction to identify trends and innovations within the customer experience space
  • Collaborate with various project teams to ensure the commercial success and smooth execution of each event
  • P&L responsibility to drive the portfolio's financial performance

Requirements:

  • Min 4+ years Conference Production experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, inspire and grow a team
  • Proven track record in planning & executing multiple simultaneous projects
  • An ability to directly influence research and speaker acquisition campaigns for your producers
  • An effective communicator, both verbally and on a written basis
  • Self-motivated with great time management skills
  • Intellectually curious with a willingness to learn about new topics
  • Effective collaborator and team player
