Job Title: Research Data Governance Professional

This role involves overseeing the effective management of research data across the institution, ensuring that all policies and procedures are up-to-date and in line with best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and updating institutional policies and procedures related to research data governance.
  • Coordinating the rollout of a university-wide framework for managing, protecting, and sharing data.
  • Facilitating the review of requests to access and use SMU data for research.
  • Developing guidelines and materials to raise awareness on institutional policies relating to data governance, data sharing, and data use & access.
  • Maintaining institutional-wide workflows and coordinating with schools, offices, centres, and institutes to meet internal and external compliance standards for research data governance and cybersecurity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant work experience in data governance/management.
  • Experience in research governance, data management, or cybersecurity, compliance roles is preferred.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, especially in universities and R&D environments, and Singapore's regulatory requirements related to data protection and cybersecurity.
  • Strong analytical skills for sourcing, compiling data, and facilitating decision-making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
