What the role is:

Manager, Data Governance, Govt Data Division SNDG: Smart Nation Group – Digital Government (SNDG), under the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and administratively managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), plans and prioritizes key Smart Nation and digital government projects, raises the standards of Government ICT and services, builds long-term capabilities for the public sector, and promotes adoption and participation in digital and smart innovations. It takes a whole-of-nation effort, and we will actively engage the public, the industry and fellow agencies as we build a Smart Nation together.The Government Data Division (GDD) within SNDG plays a central policymaking role in advancing data governance excellence across the public sector. Its responsibilities include: (a) formulating and implementing whole-of-government (WOG) data policies that guide the strategic management, sharing, and utilisation of data as a national asset; (b) identifying and driving new initiatives to improve the exchange of data within Government agencies, and sharing of Government data with commercial partners and the public; and (c) strengthening data governance by developing policies relating to responsible use of data, as well as driving the development of capabilities, institutionalizing structures and standardising tools for WOG.
What you will be working on:
You will be supporting a policy team refreshing strategies and designing policies, spearheading ecosystem building and capability development efforts, and driving the implementation of high-impact initiatives to advance public sector data governance outcomes. Some potential projects that you will be supporting include:
• Conduct research to develop and implement central interventions on the necessary structures, skills (i.e. workforce planning and development), and systems to uplift WOG data governance, and
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Government to do so.This role offers learning opportunities for those interested in policy making, ecosystem building and capability development, in the area of data governance.

• Experience in policy and capability building, with some basic understanding of technical concepts to bridge policy and implementation

• Demonstrates polished communication abilities when engaging with a variety of stakeholders
