About the RoleThe Senior Operations Coordinator is responsible for providing dedicated support to the Head of Operations, handling daily tasks and activities that ensure our department meets its service standards while minimizing risks. As a key member of the team, you will be entrusted with various duties, including responding to client instructions, managing internal stakeholder interactions, and supporting the Bahrain processing team. Your primary objective is to guarantee timely delivery of high-quality services to clients and other Bank ABC units within agreed-upon parameters.
Main Responsibilities- Support to Head of Operations: Primary person to respond to client instructions, internal stakeholders, and Bahrain processing team for transactions relating to trade finance, bilateral and syndicated loans, remittances, Money Market deposits, and other Treasury products.
- As directed, undertake timely and accurate delivery of all requested tasks and initiatives as part of the daily operational work assigned by the HOD.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
- Verify that the work processed by self and the team adheres to all specified Bank processes, procedures, standards, and relevant external requirements.
- Identify and suggest improvements to new and existing processes/procedures/systems and the way in which the team operates to enhance service quality and process efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of market conditions, bank products, and services to ensure best practice adoption where required.
- Participate in evaluating and implementing new or upgrades to existing IT systems and new products, including robust user testing in accordance with Bank standards.
- Prepare periodic reports and escalate irregularities to management and other regulating units/parties.
- Provide backup cover for other colleagues absent due to sickness, training, annual leave, etc.
- Recommend and implement changes to the way in which the team operates to improve service quality and process efficiency.
- Respond to a range of demanding inquiries, clarifying customers' and other departments'/units' understanding of the information being given.
- Undertake duties at a similar or higher level as required.
- Deliver designated activities to provide an effective service to other departments/units in accordance with agreed-upon service standards.
- When required, support line management with the implementation of changes in own work area.
To succeed in this challenging role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in the following areas:
- Good Understanding: Knowledge of the risks and attributes of the Group's key products, services, operations, and technology gained from hands-on experience in operational roles.
- Regulatory Awareness: Strong knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements for the Branch's products, services, and operations.
- Self/Work Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks, diarize effectively to achieve deadlines, and when appropriate, coordinate and allocate tasks to ensure full and effective use of resources available.
- Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office software, including Visio, and systems appropriate to the role, enabling you to input and extract information to provide various reports.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields: Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business, or Risk Management.
ExperienceA minimum of 3-6 years of banking experience in Commercial Banking (Trade, Loans, Treasury) is essential for this position.
Personal AttributesYou must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English. Additionally, you should have a positive attitude, be a team player, and be self-motivated, with a 'can-do' approach and ability to think beyond what is being requested. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with strong time management and minimal supervision are also required.
