Job Title: Officer / Centre for Animal Rehabilitation (Contract)

About the Role:

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Officer / Centre for Animal Rehabilitation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the rehoming of animals from our Centre for Animal Rehabilitation, monitoring their progress, and working with rehabilitation partners to ensure successful adoptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rehoming of animals from the Centre for Animal Rehabilitation
  • Monitoring animal progress and assessing readiness for rehoming
  • Collaborating with rehabilitation partners on animal adoption
  • Liaising with potential adopters and facilitating adoption paperwork
  • Providing pre- and post-adoption support
  • Assisting with record keeping and ad-hoc duties

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Veterinary Technology, Veterinary Bioscience, Biological Sciences, or Psychology, or Nitec/Higher Nitec in Applied & Health Sciences courses with 2 years of relevant working experience
  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Positive attitude, high level of initiative, and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays based on roster
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Applications
