Strategic Communications Specialist

The Ministry of Law is seeking a skilled and innovative Assistant Director to support the senior leadership team in developing effective communications strategies and implementing them through collaboration with the Communications & Engagement Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend meetings with senior leaders to identify emerging issues and opportunities for strategic communication.
  • Research and draft proposed key messages, story angles, and content outlines for refinement by senior stakeholders.
  • Identify social media opportunities from senior leaders' engagements and propose creative concepts to engage target audiences.
  • Coordinate with CED to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and brand consistency in content delivery.
  • Maintain tracking of upcoming events and communications milestones to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements:
  • Media Analysis: Monitor media activities and reports to assess potential ramifications and recommend suitable response strategies.
  • Message Development: Craft and deliver messages aligned to communications strategy and objectives, ensuring clarity and impact.
  • Media Relations: Develop media engagement strategies and foster media relationships to manage media responses and build reputation.
  • Communications Strategy: Develop comprehensive communications strategies and programmes to support agency leaders and policy-makers, enhancing stakeholder engagement and public understanding.
  • Candidates should possess qualifications in Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, Journalism, Law, or related fields, with 3-6 years' experience in communications, public affairs, or policy research.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills; ability to distil complex issues into clear, compelling messages that resonate with target audiences.
  • Familiarity with social media content creation and audience engagement techniques to maximize reach and impact.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams to achieve common goals.
