Job Title: Sports Riding Coach

At Singapore Polo Club, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Riding Coach to join our team. As a key member of our riding department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality riding lessons to students of all levels, from beginners to competitive riders.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach riding lessons in a safe, progressive, and enjoyable manner, ensuring students achieve their riding goals.
  • Prepare students for monthly competitions and provide support on show days.
  • Encourage students to participate in Pony Club, additional lessons, leases, and competing at shows.
  • Maintain accurate records of rider lists and colour levels, reviewing them quarterly.
  • Conduct rider assessments, teach beginner courses, and participate in clinics to develop riding and teaching skills.
  • Progress qualifications through the BHS course program up to Stage 3 SM.
  • Report any issues regarding horse behavior or welfare.
  • Attend weekly department meetings and participate in SPC competitions, including arena setup, tasks, and stewarding.
  • Teach regular or ad-hoc lessons outside of normal teaching hours, with overtime compensation.


Stable Management:

  • Conduct daily checks of riding section stables and horses between 7am and 8:30am, submitting a weekly report.
  • Order weekly feed and bedding requirements.
  • Train and support grooms in their jobs.
  • Complete a monthly report on tack and equipment condition.
  • Maintain an inventory of tack in use and in-store, recommending any tack requirements.
  • Maintain horse care records.
  • Allocate horses for daily lessons, schooling, and turnout against daily sheet bookings.


Requirements:

  • Possess a British Horse Society Assistant Instructor (BHS AI) Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Exhibit good interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality customer care.
  • Enjoy teaching at all levels, from beginners to competitive riders.
