At Singapore Polo Club, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Riding Coach to join our team. As a key member of our riding department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality riding lessons to students of all levels, from beginners to competitive riders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach horse riding lessons in a safe, progressive, and enjoyable manner for all levels of riders.
- Prepare students for monthly competitions and assist them on show days.
- Encourage students to become more involved in the riding section through Pony Club, additional lessons, leases, and competing at shows.
- Maintain rider lists and colour levels, reviewing them quarterly.
- Complete rider assessments of new riders and teach beginner courses.
- Participate in clinics to develop riding and teaching skills.
- Progress qualifications through the BHS course program up to Stage 3 SM.
- Report issues regarding horse behavior or welfare.
- Attend weekly department meetings.
- Teach regular or ad-hoc lessons outside of normal teaching hours with overtime compensation.
- Assist with SPC competitions, including arena setup, arena tasks, and stewarding.
Stable Management:
- Conduct daily checks of riding section stables and horses between 7am and 8.30am, submitting a weekly report.
- Order weekly feed and bedding requirements.
- Train and support grooms in their jobs.
- Complete a monthly report of tack and equipment condition.
- Maintain an inventory of tack in use and in-store, recommending any tack requirements.
- Maintain horse care records.
- Allocate horses for daily lessons, schooling, and turnout against daily sheet bookings.
Requirements:
- Possess a British Horse Society's Assistant Instructor (BHS AI) Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Exhibit good interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality customer care.
- Enjoy teaching at all levels, from beginners to competitive riders.
