The incumbent is accountable for end-to-end delivery of credit and lending operations globally, encompassing all product streams and operational risk control maintenance. Performance monitoring involves key metrics such as volumes, productivity, accuracy, service levels, losses/lapses, issues, and risk registers.
Responsibilities
- Transaction Monitoring Group: Manage the transaction management team, working on documentation with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments, and multinational corporations. Corporate finance and security trustee management responsibilities include global security trustee products. Documentation experience and management skills are required for corporate trust and loan & agency services.
- Loans and Agency: The incumbent is accountable for end-to-end delivery of loan agency operations across countries, covering all product streams and operational risk control maintenance. Agency operations support syndicated deals where we act as an agent. Responsibilities are covered by the loan syndication PPG.
- Global Lending Services: Ensure seamless client experiences through efficient processing and timely resolution of client exceptions in lending operations processes at all locations. Focus on core lending products – identify lending products handled by other units and migrate to GLS.
- Credit Risk Operations and Lending Documentation Unit: Deliver a superior frontline and client experience with the credit fulfillment process by embedding appropriate risk culture and standards of excellence into team activities and mindset. This includes strong emphasis on pre-approval and post-approval processes.
Strategic Direction
- Develop the strategic operations direction and roadmap for credit and lending, aligning with business strategy and investment appetite. This should drive Ops efficiency and headcount reduction.
- Support architecture in formulating best practices and applying agreed methodologies in credit and lending operations.
- Drive operations strategy to streamline processes, enhance productivity, reduce risk, improve controls, and leverage technologies.
- Partner with architecture on the digital agenda, anticipate disruptive forces, and commercialize innovative technology use.
- Deliver a robust control environment that mitigates loss risk and safeguards bank assets.
- Ensure seamless client experiences based on efficient processing, timely resolution of client exceptions, and perceived enablement by the business to generate and retain client flows.
- Align activities to support utilities models for greater standardization, process efficiency, and cost reduction.
Business Alignment
- Work closely with the business, taking product programs from investment decisions to design, specification, and solution phases, securing support services from other teams. 'Product' refers to required capabilities, including regulatory requirements and internal client support.
- Support businesses in growing Return on Equity, commercializing capabilities, bid teams, monitoring usage, improving client experiences, and collecting defects for future improvements.
- Drive sign-off on operations capability to support new products and agreeing volume caps (if required) for new products without full support from operations systems or resource capabilities.
Processes Ownership
- The Credit and Lending Operations Head is responsible as Process and Control Owner through the Operational Risk Framework.
- Effectively control outsourced processes and activities, including capacity, capability, performance, and cost management.
- Process and control ownership responsibilities within the business: client-facing activities.
