Ship Design Specialist Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to work on complex projects and strengthen a dynamic marine team. We're seeking a skilled Structural / Design Engineer (Marine) with experience in cargo operations.

  • We need someone who can assess vessel hull strength, develop solutions to reinforce structures for heavy/project cargo and prepare detailed plans and reports for lashing, stowage, securing, dunnage, and heavy lifting.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with owners, charterers, shipmasters, and class societies to secure approvals and resolve technical queries.

  • A strong understanding of vessel stability, cargo loading, welding, and marine structures is necessary, as well as proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar) and analysis software (e.g., Femap/Nastran).

  • Candidates should also have a solid grasp of cargo lashing design (e.g., DNV Lashcon), experience in rigging and lifting, and be able to handle last-minute demands under pressure.

  • We require excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a resilient attitude when faced with challenging situations.

About the Role:

  • Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Structural/Design Engineer in shipyards or marine engineering.

  • Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities are essential.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to new challenges.
