Heavy Forklift Driver Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Forklift Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy forklifts and container stackers within the container depot.

  • Operate heavy forklifts and container stackers safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload containers in a timely manner.
  • Stack containers in designated locations as per requirements.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal functionality.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Meeting productivity targets and deadlines.
  • Maintaining accurate records of tasks completed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Valid forklift operation certification.
  • Experience working in a warehouse or container depot environment.
  • Strong physical fitness level.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work at heights.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Previous experience working with equipment such as forklifts and container stackers.
