Position Overview
The primary focus of this role is to oversee general account and ILP funds that allocate investments in external mandates/funds within the Equities sector, reporting directly to the Head of Global Equities. The goal is to consistently achieve alpha from equity market investments while maintaining risk control in accordance with the established volatility budget and constraints for each portfolio.The Global Equity team will collaborate with relevant investment professionals to create suitable mandates for equity portfolios, execute effective portfolio management, and communicate performance metrics to stakeholders.
The team is expected to work cohesively and manage interactions with Group Investment, Business Divisions, and AIAIM to fulfill its objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Head of Global Equities to manage and construct outsourced equity portfolios, from concept development and fund selection to investment due diligence and portfolio assembly, ensuring alignment with the portfolio's overall risk and return objectives. Conduct regular analysis and evaluation of the portfolio, including frequent manager assessments, and develop tools and reports to manage risk and performance as necessary. Cultivate research expertise and create analytical tools to support decision-making processes, proposing recommendations and solutions for global equities allocation. Stay informed about significant global developments in capital markets to aid in idea generation for the overall portfolio and provide insights from the Global Equities team into the Listed Equities process. Actively participate in the Group's Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) process to contribute to the formulation of factor and regional perspectives from a global equity standpoint, as well as provide forecasts on equity markets. Report on portfolio performance and attribution to Business Unit Chief Investment Officer and stakeholders. Serve as both a collaborator and a mentor for other team members as the team expands and evolves.Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund selection and research. At least 2 years in an asset allocation or portfolio management capacity. Demonstrated strong expertise in Equities, characterized by a well-defined and consistent investment methodology, with proven success in investment performance. Exceptional technical skills, with a comprehensive understanding of investment strategies and their implications, as well as execution and value enhancement strategies across physical, fund, and derivative markets. Strong operational knowledge, experience with transition management, and familiarity with tactical trading or risk mitigation strategies. Experience within or collaborating with an Insurance Asset Management Company is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal and engagement capabilities, with a reputation as a valuable team player. Postgraduate degree in business, finance, economics, or related fields; CFA designation preferred.-
