Position Overview
The primary focus of this role is to oversee general account and ILP funds that engage in external mandates/funds within the Equities sector, reporting directly to the Head of Global Equities. The aim is to consistently achieve alpha from equity market investments while maintaining risk control in line with the agreed volatility parameters for each portfolio.The Global Equity team will work closely with relevant investment professionals to establish suitable mandates for equity portfolios, execute effective portfolio management, and communicate performance metrics to stakeholders.
The team is expected to operate cohesively and manage interactions with Group Investment, Business Divisions, and AIAIM to fulfill its objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Head of Global Equities to manage and develop outsourced equity portfolios, from concept generation and fund selection to investment due diligence and portfolio structuring, ensuring alignment with the portfolio's risk and return goals. Conduct regular analysis and evaluation of the portfolio, including ongoing manager assessments, and develop tools and reports to manage risk and performance where necessary. Cultivate research expertise and create analytical tools to support decision-making, providing recommendations and solutions for global equities allocation. Stay informed about significant global developments in capital markets to aid in idea generation for the overall portfolio and contribute to the Global Equities team's input into the Listed Equities process. Actively participate in the Group's Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) process to assist in formulating factor/regional perspectives from a global equity standpoint and provide insights on equity market trends. Communicate portfolio performance and attribution to Business Unit Chief Investment Officers and stakeholders. Serve as both a collaborator and a mentor for team members as the team evolves and expands.Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund selection/research. At least 2 years in an asset allocation or portfolio management role. Proven expertise in Equities, characterized by a well-defined and consistent investment approach, with a track record of successful investment performance. Exceptional technical skills, with a deep understanding of investment strategies and their implications, as well as implementation and value enhancement techniques in physical, fund, and derivative markets. Strong operational knowledge, experience with transition management, and familiarity with tactical trading or risk mitigation strategies. Experience in an Insurance Asset Management Company is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a reputation as a supportive team member. Postgraduate degree in business, finance, economics, or related fields; CFA designation preferred.-
