Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Baker to lead our bakery operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production, mentoring staff, and maintaining quality standards.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Production Leadership: Lead and participate in the daily production of bakery items, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation consistency.
  2. Mentorship: Mentor and guide the bakery team, promoting collaboration, performance improvement, and a positive workplace culture.
  3. Scheduling: Oversee and manage the production schedule in coordination with the management to meet sales and operational targets.
  4. Inventory Management: Manage ingredient inventory, perform regular stock checks, and place orders to ensure uninterrupted production.
  5. Cost Control: Monitor product costing and pricing, ensuring all items meet the required cost-to-price mark-up standards.
  6. Product Development: Propose and introduce new or popular bakery products by conducting trials and obtaining approval.
  7. Team Management: Ensure the bakery team adheres to company policies, hygiene standards, and operational procedures.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Head Baker or Senior Baker in a commercial or retail bakery.
  • Strong technical knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and baking equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of product costing, pricing strategy, and inventory control.
  • Ability to manage staff performance and enforce policies when necessary.
  • Creativity in new product development with attention to customer trends and preferences.
  • Well-organized, reliable, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Physically fit and able to handle the demands of a production kitchen environment.
