About the Role:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the finance function at GXS, working closely with the executive leadership team and broader bank to drive business growth and deliver sound reporting and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the CFO/Group CFO, this leadership role will oversee financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial accounting, financial control, vendor payments, and tax outcomes for GXS at Group and Bank level.
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of all processes related to financial controllership for Digibank at Group and Bank level.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure proper governance and compliance with company policies, applicable accounting standards, regulatory reporting requirements, and tax filings.
  • Project manage and implement various company-wide strategic initiatives and Finance internal projects, driving cross-functional outcomes and delivering results in line with commitments.
  • Lead and mentor high-performance teams on day-to-day operations and key metrics, guiding them towards the strategic direction and objectives of the wider company.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate and automate processes, making finance and related processes as simple and effective as possible.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience working in the banking industry.
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA) or other professional accounting accreditation.
  • Experience with IFRS/SFRS/SOX.
  • Integrity and firm commitment to ensuring compliance with policies and internal controls.
  • Able to lead, guide, and motivate a team to meet corporate goals and objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and across business units.
  • Well-developed and persuasive communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences.
  • A self-starter, entrepreneurial, and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo and drive change.
