Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting and be able to assess marine insurance submissions with ease.

Key responsibilities include evaluating risk exposure, coverage requirements, and appropriate pricing to ensure sound underwriting decisions. Additionally, the successful candidate will conduct desktop risk evaluations, request additional details from cedants or brokers where necessary, and determine terms, conditions, and premiums that align with the company's profitability goals and overall risk appetite.

The Underwriter will also monitor the marine portfolio, identify trends, and recommend adjustments to improve results and maintain alignment with strategic objectives. Furthermore, they will administer marine underwriting activities, including endorsements, system registration, and reporting to ensure accurate records and smooth operations.

Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential for this role, as the Underwriter will work closely with internal teams to pursue business opportunities and meet company targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry as an Underwriter
  • Strong knowledge of markets and underwriting experience
  • ACII/FCII or equivalent certification would be an advantage
