Job Summary:
Serve as primary transportation expert for input of logistics and distribution related issues into strategic planning process.

Utilize extensive knowledge of products, carrier industry and customer distribution requirements for global logistics analysis.

Provide consultative advice to management in matters of technical expertise regarding logistics and distribution issues. Serve as logistics consultant to plants, branches, and shipping/receiving locations.

Act as primary contact for external suppliers for logistics and distribution strategies.

Develop and conduct feasibility studies, distribution analysis and research projects dealing with location business planning.

Initiate complex distribution analysis with assigned product divisions and foreign subsidiaries.

Promote objectives of cost reduction, inventory management, cycle time compression and improved customer satisfaction.

Design and implement improvements to logistics systems such as Supply Chain Management, Just in Time, and Optimized operations program.

Provide leadership to others by influencing cross functional boundaries to meet customer expectations.
