Job Title: Server Infrastructure Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Server Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing server system hardware and networks, as well as in-house development environment software applications.

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. You should also be able to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and users.

You will be required to perform routine rotation standby technical support to customer calls and travel to customer sites during silent hours to resolve operational issues.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Manage network devices and technology tools
  • Understand overall system network architecture
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • E nsure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a System Engineer/Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
  • Experience and knowledge in VMware and SAN
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems), OS hardening and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (MS Windows and Red Hat preferred)
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
