Server Infrastructure Specialist Role

This role involves providing professional services to support data centre activities. As a Server Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the physical setup and maintenance of virtual private cloud infrastructure.

  • Ensure all hardware for servers, storage, network, and storage are mounted as per design.
  • Coordinate with data centre facilities on the roll-in and roll-out of hardware, vendor access.
  • Plan and schedule work closely with OEM vendors on physical installation, configuration, testing, and break-fix for hardware.
  • Provide first-level investigation into hardware or connectivity issues.
  • Offer hands-on support for all server hardware, including power-cycling or rebooting.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of server hardware, SAN storage, and networking components.
  • Familiarity with technical terms and jargon related to server components.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and across multiple teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with large data centre facilities and disaster recovery processes.
