Server Infrastructure Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize server placement on racks for peak performance.
- Implement and maintain UNIX/Linux Operating Systems on newly deployed servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, reinstalling operating systems as needed.
- Conduct daily server maintenance, addressing any abnormalities that may arise.
- Monitor and track data on internal systems, including asset management, ticketing, and rack-related information.
- Collaborate with remote teams to resolve complex hardware failures.
- Respond to after-hours support requests, addressing critical issues raised by stakeholders.
- Gather and verify online asset status or issues.
- Dispose of retired or decommissioned servers by securely erasing drives or configurations.
- Test and provide feedback on new tools, systems, or platforms.
- Process and track part RMA or media destruction procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Understanding of interdependencies between server functions and technologies.
- Ability to run simple Shell/Bash scripts and comprehend their applications.
- Experience working with Linux systems, proficient in locating hardware faults.
- Basic knowledge of network concepts (MAC, Subnet, TCP/IP) with general troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with power-out server communication methods, such as IPMI.
- Able to work a regular schedule, including weekends.
