Job Title: Medical Translator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Translator to fill this critical role.

 

Job Description:

A Medical Translator plays a vital role in facilitating communication between patients and healthcare professionals. The primary responsibility of a Medical Translator is to provide accurate and effective interpretation services for patients with limited English proficiency.

  • Provide accurate and effective interpretation services for patients with limited English proficiency. 
  • Convey medical information between speakers of Japanese and English languages according to clinic policies and procedures. 
  • Serve as an interpreter for patients and team members, supporting the operations of the clinic. 

 

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a Medical Translator include communicating physician's diagnosis, treatment plan, and advice with the patient during physical examination.

  • Transmit information accurately and completely. 
  • Convey complex ideas simply so that the lay person can understand. 

 

Working Conditions:

The Medical Translator will work in a fast-paced clinical environment and must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 2 years working experience in customer service industry or medical clinic setting. 

  • At least 2 years working experience in customer service industry, or medical clinic setting is an asset. 
  • Fluency in spoken and written Japanese and English. 
  • Strong communication skills and awareness in cultural diversities. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Good interpersonal skills, relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with patients, doctors and colleagues.
