Job Summary:

As a skilled craftsman, you will play a crucial role in building and renovating structures. Your responsibilities will include interpreting plans, measuring and cutting materials, constructing frameworks, and installing fixtures and finishes.

The ideal candidate will have expertise with hand and power tools, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and physical fitness to perform demanding tasks in various environments.

You will work closely with architects, engineers, construction managers, and other tradespeople to ensure project efficiency and resolve any construction issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan Interpretation: Study blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine project requirements and dimensions.
  • Material Preparation: Accurately measure and cut wood, plastic, and other materials using hand tools, power saws, and other equipment.
  • Structural Assembly: Build and install structural elements, including walls, floors, roofs, and doorframes.
  • Installation and Finishing: Fit and install windows, doors, molding, and other interior and exterior finishes.
  • Renovation and Repair: Inspect structures and repair or replace damaged wooden structures, fixtures, or other components.
  • Maintenance: Care for and maintain hand tools, power tools, and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order.
  • Project Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, construction managers, and other tradespeople to ensure project efficiency and resolve any construction issues.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools, including saws, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to identify and resolve construction issues and make necessary modifications to designs.
