Independent Credit Reviewer

Purpose of the Role:

The role involves conducting thorough and independent credit reviews of Non-Japanese credit applications, ensuring compliance with covenant requirements and mitigating credit risk to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within the organization and externally to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Partner with front-office teams and branches to review credit applications, gather customer information, and provide guidance on the credit review process.
  • Work closely with credit specialists to understand credit applications and borrower ratings, ensuring concurrence on reviews and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and support to less experienced team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Research to gather market information and analyze customer data.
  • Work with Credit Planning Department to conduct stress testing and assess credit risk to the organization's portfolio.
  • Support policy development to align with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, products, laws, and regulations.
  • Carry out internal credit/department projects assigned by senior management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal and regulatory policies regarding credit matters.
