This is an ideal opportunity to embark on a career as a Commodities Data Analyst, leveraging quantitative analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of the US Natural Gas market.

  • Provide market outlook commentary for U.S. gas markets and global LNG markets, applying statistical techniques and advanced programming to analyze trends and insights within data.
  • Automate data collection processes and write queries for databases, ensuring efficient and effective data retrieval.
  • Utilize machine learning to build predictive models based on relationships derived, including measures to enhance forecasting accuracy.
  • Stay abreast of market developments across global gas markets, working closely with traders on North American and LNG trading desks, and fundamental analysts, to support meeting front office objectives.
Requirements & Skills:
  • Masters degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, or other quantitative field, demonstrating expertise in relevant areas.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and VBA, showcasing technical skills in programming languages.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization techniques, applied to real-world problems.
  • Experience with time-series analysis and forecasting, utilizing various methodologies to predict outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of energy commodity markets, trading dynamics, and Natural Gas fundamentals, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal English) and presentation skills, facilitating effective collaboration with stakeholders and traders.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings/late evenings to coordinate with stakeholders and traders, aligning with the U.S. Eastern time zone.
