Job Summary

Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resident Management
    • Provide support and supervision to children in our care, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
    • Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, cleaning, and ensuring children are on task and on time for scheduled activities.
    • Monitor and report any concerns or issues related to resident safety, health, and well-being.
  • Health and Wellness
    • Administer basic first aid as necessary and report any medical concerns to the enrolled nurse.
    • Assist with the administration of medication as prescribed by the doctor.
  • Behavioral Support
    • Provide guidance and support to children to encourage positive behavior and prevent misbehavior.
    • Monitor and report any behavioral concerns to the Assistant Manager and Director of Care & Development.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and families to ensure a smooth and supportive environment.
    • Participate in department meetings, care plan meetings, and houseparent meetings to ensure collaboration and coordination.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Minimum GCE 'O' level qualification.
    • Able to read, write, and converse in English.
  • Work Experience and Skills
    • Relevant working experience in a childcare or child-centered work environment.
    • Trained in first aid and able to perform first aid in case of emergency.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and upon last-minute notice.
  • Personal Qualities and Behavioral Traits
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good interpersonal skills to provide psychological support for children.
    • Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to children's welfare.
