This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Metrology Engineer who wants to make a real difference in the field of metrology.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Metrology Engineer to join our team. As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for utilizing Applied Materials' drawings and CAD models to validate supplier parts to the part print. You will also program parts on various inspection equipment, apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T concepts and fundamentals for dimensional inspection of supplier parts, and convey out of tolerance data to engineering for part disposition.
You will communicate methods of inspection to suppliers, including tools used, setup methods, and datum establishment for alignment/collaboration. Additionally, you will act as a feedback conduit to design engineering for dimensioning and tolerancing on critical parts, provide feedback to suppliers to improve manufacturing method, and use statistical processes to make process improvements such as Gage R&R, Design of Experiments, etc.
You will develop best known methods for supply base and internal metrology, write procedures to document metrology methods and best known methods, prepare detailed technical reports, and offer insights on measurement uncertainties. You will also maintain measurement procedures and calibration records in accordance with ISO and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Demonstrated expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities

- Leadership: no supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members
