VP of Academic Partnerships APAC


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Academic Partnerships to join our team in the Asia Pacific region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a commercial publishing strategy across APAC, identifying new growth markets, and driving regional content acquisition.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading high-performing teams, developing and managing budgets, and providing market feedback to inform future strategic development.

In this role, you will work closely with researchers, research key opinion leaders, funders, societies, and institutions to establish and maintain high-level relationships and provide market feedback to inform future strategic development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Researcher Services content growth, KOL acquisition, and influence in APAC.
  • Lead, inspire, and coach a high-level senior team to ensure high engagement, delivery of objectives, and a culture of high performance.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop high-level relationships with key APAC customer groups.
  • Provide market feedback to inform future strategic development.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs including revenue, costs, overheads, usage, and user behaviors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in the STM / Research Publishing space.
  • The ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Strong commercial focus and experience in managing the P&L within a strategic business unit.
  • A firm grasp of strategic issues affecting the global research sector.
  • A proven track record in developing, managing, and implementing content delivery for a global publishing business.
  • Significant experience of managing change.
  • Experience of managing significant budgets.
  • Extensive capability in assessing market conditions, looking externally, and adapting business priorities dependent on macro and micro factors.
