Legal Counsel - APAC Regional Advisor

Job Description:">

The Legal Counsel will play a key role in providing comprehensive legal support to commercial businesses within the organization, with a focus on advising regional management. This position involves advising on a wide range of legal matters, including litigation, commercial disputes, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, labor and employment issues, intellectual property protection, and commercial contracting advice.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements, including NDAs, commercial sales and leasing agreements, and joint development and licensing agreements.
  2. Provide guidance and training to develop and support embedded business operations contract managers' review of commercial contracts.
  3. Collaborate with the compliance team to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
  4. Conduct legal research and stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization's business in the region.
  5. Provide training and guidance to internal teams on legal and regulatory issues.
  6. Assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
  7. Provide legal counseling and guidance to the organization's commercial business operations in the Asia Pacific Region.
  8. Manage litigation, claims, and dispute resolution activities within the region, regulatory compliance, labor and employment matters, tax, and other legal and compliance work as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of legal experience.
  • Experience within a corporate in-house legal department is required.
  • Significant experience providing legal advice and support to companies with global business manufacturing or assembly operations will be a strong advantage.
  • Experience with labor and employment litigation is a plus.
  • Experience advising in an international context is preferred.
  • Experience managing commercial litigation and implementing global legal compliance initiatives is desired.
