Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Underwriting Assistant to join our team at MyCareersFuture. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the underwriting process, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Processing
    • Register new proposal submissions into our system, ensuring all necessary information is complete and accurate.
    • Process policy amendment requests, reviewing and updating relevant documentation as needed.
  • Policy Administration
    • Process incoming New Business applications, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to facilitate a smooth underwriting process.
    • Send emails to intermediaries, informing them of outstanding requirements or actions for assessment and policy inception.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to intermediaries, responding to their inquiries and addressing any concerns in a timely and professional manner.
    • Man the NBU counter, attending to intermediaries' enquiries and acknowledging the submission of new business documents.
  • Support and Collaboration
    • Assist with policy premium billings and refunds, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to resolve any issues efficiently.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with intermediaries and internal stakeholders to ensure daily work issues are resolved, providing timely and effective services to customers.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Take accountability for considering business and regulatory compliance risks, taking appropriate steps to mitigate these risks.
    • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies to better safeguard the company.
    • Highlight any potential concerns or risks, proactively sharing best risk management practices.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Diploma holder and above in a related discipline (Banking/Finance/Business/Accounting) with relevant insurance certifications preferred.
    • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry or in an administrative capacity, with a keen eye for detail and good communication skills.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
    • Problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
