Job Title: Renal Nurse Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate renal nurse specialist to deliver high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing dialysis treatments. This role involves providing individualized nursing care to patients with renal disease, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis in accordance with established clinical protocols.
  • Prepare and operate dialysis machines and related equipment.
  • Assess patients' conditions before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
  • Monitor vital signs and promptly report any abnormal findings or complications.
  • Administer medications and manage vascular access sites (e.g., AV fistula, catheter care).
  • Educate patients and caregivers on renal disease, dialysis treatment, dietary restrictions, and medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with nephrologists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and treatment progress.
  • Comply with infection control and patient safety standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A registered nurse qualification.
  • Diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a renal/dialysis setting.
  • Prior experience in haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in managing dialysis equipment and vascular access sites.
  • Strong communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • A team player with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
