European Baker Wanted

We are seeking an accomplished baker to support our kitchen in producing a variety of bread types, including baguette, croissant, sourdough, ciabatta, focaccia, brioche, and puff pastry.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in making and baking European bread, lamination, ingredient preparation and baking, handling of kitchen equipment, and following recipes or instructions from head bakers or supervisors.

The successful candidate must be able to handle and minimize wastage, identify spoilage of product, manage and maintain quality standards and cleanliness, monitor ingredient stock and order placement, and communicate effectively with customers and follow up on their orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality bread products according to recipes and specifications
  • Develop and implement efficient production methods to minimize waste and optimize yields
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary to ensure optimal stock levels
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries and feedback

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Pastry & Baking (WSQ Basic Food and Hygiene certificate or similar is preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience as a baker or relevant experience
  • Able to work on weekends and public holidays
  • Willing to learn and accept feedback/criticism
  • Creative and great attention to detail
