Production Engineer

  • Job Summary

The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and implementing new tool installations, relocations, chamber retrofits to enhance equipment performance and drive continuous improvement programs for the process area. This role oversees the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, maintaining current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, scheduling, and implementing new tool installations, relocations, and chamber retrofits.
  • Developing and maintaining equipment maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Collaborating with process owners to develop, prioritize, and manage projects to reduce defects, improve availability, and find solutions to ongoing problems; and identifying, quantifying, and qualifying cost reduction projects.
  • Serving as a liaison between facilities, vendor representatives, and shift personnel.
  • Interacting with process owners and tool vendors to develop new hardware, software, and technologies related to process and hardware performance improvements.
  • Writing and publishing reports that summarize equipment availability improvements and cost reduction projects.
  • Ensuring the promotion of internal and external customer focus throughout the organization.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of the integrity of QMS/business processes when changes are planned and implemented.
  • Meeting customer requirements.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering from a recognized institute of higher learning.
  • Good experience in cleanroom wafer fabs.
  • Good relevant internship experience or prior experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Willingness to work non-standard working hours (e.g., compressed, 12-hour night shifts).
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and leadership skills – ability to coordinate and motivate team members from multiple sites and different backgrounds.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and simple code writing desired.
  • Relevant experience as an emergency response team (ERT) or first-aid/first-responder is valued.
  • Self-motivated, self-governing, with the ability to work in a demanding and dynamic environment.
  • Curiosity and a natural tendency to learn new things independently.
