Vessel Operations Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Operations Manager to join our team in Singapore. This leadership role will provide you with the opportunity to oversee the daily operations of approximately 6 container vessels, ensuring seamless management and efficient execution.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of vessels under your responsibility
  • Providing timely and sufficient support to vessels on all operational and technical matters at all times
  • Conducting regular inspections and preparing inspection reports on vessels under your responsibility
  • Ensuring safety is the top priority in all vessel operations
  • Preparing financial budgets for maintenance, repairs, stores, modifications, and dry-dockings for vessels under your responsibility
  • Overseeing cost control on ship management budget and communicating any significant deviations to Management
  • Coordinating inspection and execution of dry-docking for vessels under Fleet operations responsibility and as assigned
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant international and local regulations and maintaining vessel certification and surveys
  • Monitoring the performance of vessels under your responsibility and arranging corrective actions when necessary
  • Conducting performance appraisals for Masters and Chief Engineers serving on board vessels under your responsibility
  • Maintaining close liaison with Liner Operations on all aspects of vessel management

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • A marine engineering background and experience as a senior marine engineer or dual/navigation officer
  • Prior experience as a technical superintendent managing container vessels is beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently with multicultural teams ashore and on board
  • Diligent and organized work approach, understanding the importance of cost-effectiveness, and enhanced problem-solving skills
