Job Title: HVAC and Refrigeration Specialist

HVAC and Refrigeration Specialists install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Their work involves residential, commercial, and industrial units.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, inspect, and test HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance and service checks on HVAC/R systems.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and make necessary repairs.
  • Recharge refrigeration systems with appropriate refrigerants.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain records of service reports, repairs, and parts used.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and junior technicians.
  • Recommend system improvements and energy-saving solutions.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, electricians, and project managers.

Required Qualifications:
Education:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field is required.


Certifications:

EPA Section 608 certification (or equivalent local authority certification), F-Gas Certification (for Europe), and trade license (if required by local jurisdiction) are also essential.


Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/R system installation and maintenance is required. Familiarity with commercial and industrial refrigeration units, as well as experience with electrical controls and HVAC automation, is highly valued.


Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of refrigerants and recovery procedures.
  • Skilled in using HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Time management and ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong physical stamina, comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying weather conditions.
